A Long December

So the winter meetings just wrapped in Nashville. At the end of last week and the start of this week it looked like the Yanks had a good shot at landing Santana. Their deal seemed much better than the offer the Sox gave the Twins. Hell, I was checking SI.com every 30 minutes for the big announcement. As a Yankees fan you get used the team going out and getting what they want, so I thought this was going to be another one of those times. It was really surprising that they didn't. Though, I still don't really consider them out of the race. I can't decide if keeping the young guns will be the smartest decision they've made since hiring "Clueless Joe" or it'll be the dumbest decision they've made since firing him. They can't let Santana go to the Sox, that's for sure.

Just to recap, they've done well by re-signing Posado, Mo, Pettitte, and Rodriguez...but they were all on the team last year and they couldn't get out of the division series. They really need an ace.
